Leading the Service Business in the China region, the role of the Regional Service Director (RSD) is to work with the market and Customers across all three Marel industry groups, poultry, meat and fish. Responsibilities include development, implementation and continuous monitoring of new ways of working and to ensure that the organisation is fully prepared and capable of managing the expected accelerated growth This position is part of the Regional Leadership team as well as the extended Global Service leadership team.

Opportunities – Services are increasingly essential to the competitiveness and consequently the growth of the company which is demonstrated through increased investments both financially and operationally. The China region presents exceptionally large opportunities for Service and is characterised by a focused capability build-up and an expansion of Service offerings.

Customers – The customer base includes most of the world’s blue-chip food processors in the poultry, meat and fish industries and are in partnership with Marel looking to increase the effectiveness of their production through a one-stop shop for equipment, software and service.

Summary Role Overview

The role is fully in charge and leads the regional service business to meet agreed strategic and operational goals for the China region.

The four core success factors of the role are:

  • CUSTOMER – Drive growth of Service in the region by optimal coverage of installed base and customer satisfaction. Identify growth potential and relevant market actions for service solutions, based on installed base analysis and relevant market insights
  • SERVICE – Ensure regional standards are consistent and coherent with global standards with regards to competencies, portfolio, processes and tools.
  • CAPABILITY – Develop an organisation able to meet current and projected customer requirements within the region and to complement this with a clear process to alternate resources allocated from centre and/or other regions.
  • COLLABORATION – Drive high levels of collaboration with customers, between region and centre/other regions, across functional teams, with peers and employees.
